Marc
and Becky Miller opened Spoke Monkey Cyclery Inc. in July 2011
in the old North Towne Mall Movie Theater.
It took over the former six-screen theater that showed movies
for $1 each for years before it closed in October 2008. It has a 13,000 square foot retail, maintenance shop and BMX training facility. Marc and Becky converted three theaters into the training facility , complete with a 2-lane Pro-Gate. There's nothing like it anywhere around.
The Miller's are parents of three: Aly, 11, Zak, 7, and Eli, 6. In a sport that's known for tough guys and tattoos they wanted to make sure they created a family-friendly atmosphere. They've prepped Spoke Monkey so that it has an exercise room with cardio equipment and windows for parents to watch their kids ride while they work out.
Marc worked for Woodward Governor for 17 years before realizing his dream of opening Spoke Monkey. Becky continues to teach massage therapy and working from her home office, as well as working at Spoke Monkey.
